ABOUT ANDY WATTS
“Andy Watts, master distiller and South African Whisky pioneer has numerous awards to his name,the ultimate being that in March 2021 he becamethe 70th inductee in Whisky Magazine’s “Whisky Hall of Fame” following on his Global Icon awards as Master Distiller / Master Blender in 2018 and World’s Best Whisky Ambassador in 2020.
Andy played a role in many globally recognized achievements for The James Sedgwick Distillery, Three Ships Whisky and Bain’s Cape Mountain blended whisky and, the first single grain whisky, Bain’s Cape Mountain
blended whisky and, the first single grain whisky, Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky. Both Three Ships and Bain’s, twice, have been named the World’s Best Whisky in their respective categories at the World Whisky Awards under Andy’s tenure.
Boasting 41 years in the industry, Andy has now retired from corporate life but will never stop loving all things whisky. He continues to play an instrumental role in the Three Ships and Bain’s’ development and innovation process and is involved in other challenging projects with in the broader whisky community as proud owner of The Watts Whisky Company (Pty) Ltd.
